Why Actors Use Independent Activities

Acting craft requires concentration. Independent Activities are also called Meisner Activities or Independent Doings. They are the involved doing that Actors achieve results by concentrating upon. You could be building a house of cards for your nephews science project or fixing a broken tire to your motorcycle. The more Actors are involved the more seems to come out of them from their Talent.

Independent Activities Builds Concentration

Active concentration causes Actors to forget about their acting and leap into the interaction of Doing. The creativity of involvement is the key that unlocks internal emotion from within. The artistic Actor finds ways to improve their scenes by finding doings that match the context and meaning of their acting scene work.

Independent Films Requires Actors Doing

The often missed about details of Acting Activities are the difference between faking and reality in film. Your job is not to think of yourself but rather to add value to the production.
